This Bush is Lush…

Starfish’s Dilemma

Posted by: thisbushislush on: July 30, 2007

I lay here with such elegance,
at the bottom of this ocean -
my so-called home,
questioning my odd existence.

Staring up in the vast infinity,
where the glimmer of God’s grand creations
scatter symmetrically,
I possess their same perfect proportions,

And still I lay here with such elegance,
at the bottom of this ocean -
my so-called home,
questioning my odd existence.

Did I
accidentally
fall from the great blue above,

OR

is it this humble blue below
that I belong,
and must learn how to cope?

“I would hurl words into this darkness and wait for an echo, and if an echo sounded, no matter how faintly, I would send other words to tell, to march, to fight, to create a sense of hunger for life that gnaws in us all.” ~Richard Wright, American Hunger, 1977
